Winter lipsticks

It is that time of the year again. Crisp cold, minimal sunshine, dark clothing and dark lipsticks! Here are my 5 top winter lip products (all in the darker shades).

Max Factor X Mulberry 685

This colour is my favourite of them all. It is dark red (more on the brick colour of red) with added shine; I believe it has some glitter in the formula. It is easy to apply in just one swoop and gives rich enough colour. The only negative thing I have to say is it doesn´t last as long as I would wish it to – and being dark lipstick you would want it to stick to your lips properly. Oh, and it smells (and tastes) deliciously.

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate 30

I am sure you have already heard Rimmel by Kate are amazing lipsticks that last long, are rich in colour and are just amazing. They are really creamy but not in a way they would bleed, but feeling rather moisturizing. And this shade 30 is a beautiful red-purple dark lipstick that really shows it is winter time.

Sephora Kiss Me Soda Pop

Now this is more a lip balm than a lipstick but I like wearing it anyway when I know I will not have time to reapply my lipstick. I know, this sounds weird, but when this thing wears off you can´t see any trace of it, which is perfect. That being said it doesn´t survive much and even came off my hand first when I was washing off the swatches. It will moisturize your lips, it will “sink” into your lips a bit so you do have a bit of tint for a while after is wears down, but the colour is not very rich, more like translucent dark (if that makes any sense).

Marc Jacobs Lip Creme Magenta 224

This one is my favourite as whole. I love the colour, love the texture and it lasts so long! The colour is similar to the Kate one (Kate 30 is a bit darker and purple-y) but it doesn´t feel as creamy and thick as Kate and I find it a bit easier to apply. Simply, my favourite!

Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Chunkiest Chili 02

I have been looking for this colour for so long… It is a brick red but a bit more on the red side and less orange-y, it is does not scream “look at me” and is rather subtle. Application is really easy again; it is buildable and lasts pretty well. With the additional effect of it being moisturizing I find myself often grabbing this product.
